Social Media Reels That Sell: How Asheville Realtors Are Using Video to Stand Out

We all know social media is a great way for our businesses to stand out from the crowd. However, creating amazing content doesn’t come naturally to most of us!

In this post I am going to showcase some realtors in Asheville and Western North Carolina that are doing a great job of with their vertical videos on social media. Vertical videos make easy viewing on smart phones, and are used as Instagram Reels, TikToks, and as YouTube Shorts.

I hope these tips and examples will help you build your own social media. If you don’t love doing it yourself, Dragonfly is here to help you out.

Here are powerful tips for Asheville realtors to maximize visibility with social media reels:

1️⃣ Post at peak times: Research shows Asheville real estate content performs best mid-morning weekdays and Sunday afternoons when people are planning weekend viewings.

2️⃣ Use local hashtags strategically: Include #AshevilleRealEstate, #AVLhomes, #AshevilleNC, #WNCLiving and neighborhood-specific tags like #WestAsheville or #DowntownAVL in your posts to target your audience.

3️⃣ Showcase your personality! I look forward to Rachel the Realtor’s reels because she is super creative and fun. She sells luxury homes in Western North Carolina, which I am not in the market for (yet 😋), but if I were I would consider her just for the creativity and personality she imbues into her IG Reels.

4️⃣ Include yourself (or your business partners) in the video: If you have a playful personality and want to shout out the features of a property and the benefits of living in a specific Western North Carolina neighborhood, become the co-star of your video. Remember to make the property the main attraction.

In this Instagram Reel, realtors Tyler Davis and Jeramy Neugent of Looking Glass Realty partner to make a fun video that advertises “the perfect house” in Hendersonville, NC.

5️⃣ Focus on lifestyle content: Show how properties connect to Asheville's outdoor lifestyle - proximity to hiking trails, the Blue Ridge Parkway, or the French Broad River. I love this Instagram Reel from Abby Holmes (great realtor name!) where she shares some of the top golf-communities near Asheville.

6️⃣ Partner with local businesses: Feature nearby breweries, restaurants, or artisan shops in your reels. Shout out to Ashton Peters for promoting this list of WNC shops and local artists with online stores that can ship their products. Of course, you don’t have to list all of the businesses in Western North Carolina, just choose one or two to start with!

7️⃣ Showcase Asheville's unique character: Feature the city's distinctive architecture, mountain views, and artsy neighborhoods. Capture the Blue Ridge mountains backdrop from properties whenever possible. In this Instagram Reel Maddy Atendido shows off an historic pebbledash arts & crafts home in Asheville’s Montford neighborhood.

8️⃣ Create neighborhood tours: Quick 30-second reels showcasing different Asheville neighborhoods help both local and relocating buyers. This fun taste of Asheville by realtor Lisa Markee really reels us in!

9️⃣ Give your prospective buyers and sellers some good advice: Like Dee Gambrell suggests in this vertical video — Price it Right, Boost Curb Appeal, Declutter & Stage, and most importantly… Professional Photos & Video Matter!

🔟 Choose a great Real Estate Photo Media company like Dragonfly to work with! Of course I have to put a little plug for myself in this post.
